In November of 2002, Pastor Wallace Cunningham was called into the ministry under the leadership of his father, Pastor Frank Cunningham, at Greater Faith Baptist Church. Four years later, in 2006, he was ordained. In September of 2014, he was installed to serve as the Senior Pastor of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in the Boxtown community in the Southwest region of the Memphis metropolitan area. He is also a member of the Memphis Baptist Ministerial Association and Congress President of the Whitehaven District Association. In Christian education, he has a Masters of Divinity degree from Memphis Theological Seminary where he has served as Secretary for the Student Senate and the Netter’s Scholar Graduate Assistant.
In regards to education, he has a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Professional and Technical Writing and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership, both from the University of Memphis. He has taught English at Youth Villages, Remington College, and Power Center Academy High School. He now teaches English for Shelby County Schools.
In addition to his commitment to ministry and education, he has a passion for community, having served as a board member of the Concerned Citizens of North Memphis, Vice President of the Ford Nelson Unified Neighborhood Association and President of the Southland Hills Neighborhood Association Incorporated in Whitehaven.
His proudest accolade is the fact that he is the grateful husband of Sherry Cunningham and proud father of Trinity and Kennedy Cunningham.
